Manual Therapy

During the COVID-19 crisis, Manual Therapy is still available! You can be taught how to virtually assess your situation and together and along with your other providers, if necessary, we can come up with a plausible clinical impression. Once this is accomplished, we can customize your very own Self-Guided Manual Therapy Program.

Manual therapy is a clinical approach utilizing specific hands-on techniques, including but not limited to joint mobilization, used by the kinesiolgist to assist with the treatment soft tissues and joint structures for the purpose of:

  • reducing pain
  • increasing range of motion (ROM)
  • reducing or eliminating soft tissue inflammation
  • inducing relaxation
  • improving contractile and non-contractile tissue repair, extensibility, and/or stability
  • facilitating/restoring better movement

Some of the therapeutic approaches I use are:

  • Thai Yoga Massage for the Table
  • Integrative Yoga Therapy
  • Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation
  • Passive-Assisted Stretching
  • Active-Assisted Stretching
  • Acupressure/Trigger Point Therapy
  • Friction Massage
  • Myofascial Release (Guided, Active and Passive)
  • Taping
